Gray or blue flexible plastic
That is most likely polybutylene. It was widely installed in Florida from the late 1970s into the mid-1990s and has a reputation for failing at fittings and cracking after years of exposure to chlorinated water. Some insurers ask about it during underwriting.
Copper with green spots or repeat pinholes
Copper served well for decades, but Florida water chemistry can slowly eat through it from the inside. A home that has had two or three pinhole leaks in different spots is telling you the rest of the copper is thin too.
Dull gray threaded steel
Galvanized steel is less common in Lady Lake than in older towns, but it shows up in some early homes. It rusts from the inside, choking flow and tinting water brown.
